RCIA (Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults) takes place on Mondays for the month of February at 7.15pm in the Parish Hall. Everyone who is interested is welcome.
The Season of Lent: The Season of Lent began on Ash Wednesday which was a day of Fasting and Abstinence from meat. All who have reached the age of 14 are bound by the law of abstinence. The law of fasting applies to all who have not reached the age of 60.
Other forms of Penance include works of charity, prayers and devotional exercises. I would like to encourage all parishioners to come closer to God in this Holy Season through prayers, fasting and almsgiving.
Stations of the Cross throughout the period of Lent, St Peter’s :Wednesdays 7.30pm, St Rose’s: Fridays, 7.00pm.
St Peter’s Prayer Group Every Wednesday at 2pm in the church. I would like to encourage all parishioners to join the group to pray for their personal intentions and those of our parish. Thanks.
Rite of Election for candidates to be received into full communion with the Catholic Church takes place this Sunday at 3pm in St Chad Cathedral, Birmingham. Please pray for the candidates.
St Rose’s SVP meets on Monday 22nd February at 7.30pm in the sacristy. All members are pleased requested to attend, thanks.
Second Collection next Sunday for Cafod Lenten Family Fast. Please kindly pick up Cafod envelopes in the porch before you leave church this weekend. Mrs Jean Ita will be speaking during the weekend Masses at St Rose’s about Cafod Lenten Family Fast.
