Epiphany Blessing
Which you may like to use this weekend. It is an ancient tradition to bless our homes at the time of the Epiphany.
Traditionally the current year and the legendary initials of the three Magi are marked above the front door in chalk:
20 + C+M+B+ 09
while a member of the household prays:
May all who come to our home this
year rejoice to find Christ
living among us;
and may we seek and serve,
in everyone we meet, the same Jesus
who is Lord for ever and ever.
Amen
The initials CMB may stand for Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar, another explanation is that they stand for Christus mansionem benedicat, May Christ bless this home.
